MISSION

The mission of the Global Youth Coalition is to build capacities, create networks, and foster collaboration. We aim to create a powerful youth-led movement that can advocate for ambitious climate policies, secure climate finance for projects and solutions, and take active participation at the tables where decisions are made, as well as in the businesses that are fueling the change we see in our vision, while ensuring the safety and well-being of our youth members.

VISION

Our vision is a generation of young people with the skills, networks and standing to build the blue-green economy, not just ask for it. GYC is an innovation-driven, youth-led coalition that turns ambition into capability. Through training in green jobs, governance and nature-based solutions, hackathons, entrepreneurship and planetary wellness, we prepare young people to design solutions, lead ventures and take their place wherever decisions are made.

We were the ocean previously, now we are the sky, then we will be the roots, and then we will become fire. Fire after Sky is influence.

Inclusivity: We believe that proactive young people should have the opportunity to participate in the coalition and contribute to decision-making, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Empowerment: We believe in empowering young people to take action and lead the fight against climate change.

Collaboration: We believe in fostering collaboration and building networks among young people and organizations working on climate change.

Sustainability: We believe in promoting sustainable and equitable solutions to address the global climate crisis.

Sociocracy: We value using sociocracy as a governance structure, a decision-making method that emphasizes collaboration, consent, and transparency, to ensure that all voices are heard and decisions are made with the participation of all members.

Safety: We value the safety and well-being of our youth members, and we will make sure to prioritize their safety in every step of the way.

By adhering to these values, the global youth coalition will create a culture of inclusivity, empowerment, and collaboration that will drive meaningful change in the fight against climate change. The use of sociocracy will ensure that all members of the coalition have a say in decision-making and that the coalition's activities are transparent and accountable. The prioritization of safety will ensure that the youth members are safe and well during the conferences and other activities.
